busyness sucks!

hey!!
The last couple weeks have been super challenging for me! It has been 2 weeks packed full of Homework and the old testament class, which was very hard to stay focused and get everything out of it. On top of that, at the camp we have to work two full weekends and 4 partial weekends and i  had my two full weekends of work right beside each other. That made doing my homework and staying on top of my class extremely hard!
Because i had to work both weekends i have not been able to go to church or to youth. i have really been feeling the effect of that. It is a weird feeling, kind of a feeling of being thirsty and not being able to take a drink, because of all this busyness i have kind of lost my focus on God. I have really missed coming before God in worship!
I am really excited to get back to church this week. we also have a 24/7 week of prayer this week so i am excited to see God work in our lives here at Kaleo! I know that God is going to use this time to bring the group together and for individual healing.  we have chapel everyday this week so i am happy for that, and we are going into Crofton tomorrow to help out around the neighborhood, be in prayer for that that we may have conversations with the people and be a witness.
thanx for reading!
love to read some comments!!

Hey guys!
so this past week was an interesting week. it was my reading break and my sister Laura and two friends Brendon and coup drove all the way to the camp from Ontario! boy did i feel loved this week. it was so good to see them and hard to let them leave on friday morning :(.
we did not really have anything planned for the week other then going to Tofino, which is the surf capital of Canada! me, Brendon, Joel, and Kaylee went surfing for two days! we had an incredible time! i believe i have fallen in love with the sport to, i felt so comfortable on the board!
for the weekend i had to work at the camp. i started friday night and worked till sunday afternoon. so i did not get the chance to go to youth group or to the church service sunday morning. although i did spend some good time in worship and quit time.
it was awesome to have my sister and friends with me for the week, and really nice to catch up on things we have been learning.
be in prayer this week for me! please!
i am taking an old testament course which i now is going to be amazing!
but i know i can easily be distracted.
thanx for reading!

hola!
This week was and interesting week for youth. early in the week me and my classmates attending Bethel received a email from George, our youth Leader. through email he told us that we would be talking to our small groups about doubt. he gave us 4 questions to answer, have we doubted our friends?, our family?, our selves?, and have we doubted God? I was excited about this because it would be a good way to connect with the kids.
on friday we got to youth  and we played a few games which were fun. then we got split up into our small groups for the first time this year. the small groups turned out to be a lot different then i thought. me and the other kaleo's were put in different groups, and one of the kids lead the study. i dont know why george is making the kids the leaders (not that i am mad at or anything) i just thought that seeing that we are interns at the church and we are to be working and helping the kids we would get the chance to be a impact on them. I find that we are being treated as the youth which is great, i just dont think george understands what our role is suppose to be. Please pray for the bethel youth! i can tell some are finding it boring, and it would be a shame to have them stop coming.

aloha!
this week has been awesome!
tuesday we all went caving because our surfing trip had been cancelled. we also had a D.T.G. day, which means ditch the girls...ditch the guys. they guys had a great time! we started by going to the Chemainus arena and played some hockey. after that we went to a park and played ultimate frisbee and some other games. for the night we went to Jim's house. At Jim's i found out that i got accepted to be a volunteer at the 2010 vancouver olympics!
for our pre course assignment i had to read 1 John 7 days in arrow then write a paper on what i had learned! i think 1 John is a book that is easily just skimmed through and people miss some main points. I found so much in it that i cant fit it all in the blog but it mainly gives some pretty big warnings that should not be looked around.
this week i did not have youth but church was great!

hey there!
this week has been an exciting week! first of all it is thanks giving, and i have so much to be thankful for! and secondly i had my salts sailing trip, which was a trip of a life time. i spent five days on a 138 foot sail boat called the pacific grace. there was 32 of us on this boat which made it hard to find quite time. I think God really challenged me to seek him even through the times that are difficult with so much going on. i was on the boat till friday around five thirty had dinner and quickly went off to youth group where we had a boys night. We went to Ladysmith primary school and played a bunch of games. The only thing that i wish was better is that i was more involved, but other then that it is great. i am really enjoying the kids. Church on sunday was really good. i liked it that he did not preach the traditional thanksgiving sermon. It was about how we need to speak up and because our days are numbered, kinda not what people want to hear because it points out how terrible we are it. this week we are out caving and doing some other small day trips!
thanks for reading!

place of serving

Hey everyone!
Church just keeps getting better and better! I am really enjoying the worship and sermons, my pastor is very wise! i really like how he puts it "if its not in the bible i don't want it in the church!" During the week, me and my fellow classmates who are attending Bethel were looking for a spot that we could serve in, we went to a junior high event which was great. The kids are filled with energy and excited to learn. We also went to the senior high youth Group, where we had a warm welcome and fit in very well. The senior high youth needs more help with organizing and keeping the events under control, so we picked that to be our place of serving!
Today we all went to pastor Robs house for lunch, which was delicious! It was a great time to get to know Rob and his family better and discuss exactly what they are expecting of us in the senior high youth. We will be helping with bible studies and keeping the Kids engaged in the word of God! Bethel has been a blessing to me and i hope that i may bless bethel youth through out the next 8 months
For the next 5 days i will be sailing on the pacific grace (130' schooner). I am really excited for this trip and hope to see some whales! I would appreciate your prayers!
thanks!

Finding a church

Welcome to my blog! This is just the beginning of what might be the biggest adventures of my life. I am really excited that you are interested in my 8 month journey of seeking God, learning what he has for me and the people around me. I have just been introduced to six local churches, which i had to pick one to attend during the year. I knew what kind of an environment i was looking for in a church so that made it easy to decide on it. I have chosen Bethel Tabernacle, it is a large church in Ladysmith, contemporary, multi-generational, young feel, relatively conservative, pentecostal feel, and strongly biblical.
After meeting with the leaders of the church i know that my decision is i good choice! we talked for a few hours learning about each other. The church has a need for help in senior high youth and grades K to 5.  myself and two others will be taking on these ministries. I am really excited for what i can do for the church.
My journey is far from over and i have lots yet to come my way! thank you for your support and prayers, i would love to hear your thoughts of my journey!
