Back from the Olympics to lots of homework and and reading break. Great to be back sleeping in my bed! (after sleeping on a blow up mattress and it leaking air and being flat in 5 minutes). Went to Johns house on the main land in White Rock. It was a great time to relax and forget about homework when i probably should have been doing it haha. It was great to hang out with john and have some alone time with him. I really enjoyed getting to know his friends and understanding where he came from! I feel that knowing his area, friends, and just what he grew up in i know him in a much deeper level. We spent a day at his grandparents house right on the beach of White Rock. His grandparents were amazing, John was a little bit nervous that thy would not like me, BUT THEY DID! and we had a lot of fun talking and playing cards. It was great weather so we walked up the beach to the pear having some solid talks. It is crazy to me that things are blooming already. in ontario It would still be another few months to see flowers and buds.

After having a great relaxing time at Johns and coming back to camp, i realized that i should have put a little bit more time into homework so i was a little rushed in doing that, I love late night homework sessions! JOKES!! It was worth it though! had a great time with john and felt like i could take another 2 months of school, which i needed!

hello

hey every one! i know that this might be a little late but i have been extremely busy with school work and i have found it incredibly hard to keep on top of this blog. so i will give you a run through about what has happened in the past few months.
The olympics were unreal. God was 100% present all the time. he brought us through smiles, laughter, trails and encouragement! It was all to build us up for the better. So we stayed in Squamish at a church called squamish baptist church. some would say that it was rough to sleep on the floor of a church but after being at the olympics and getting to know people that i worked along side with, i realized how fortunate i was to has this building to stay in. Other volunteers at whistler Olympic park stayed at Rainbow village, which was cargo bins stacked on top of each other. It was a very dirty place, some called it district 9 in reference to the movie. district 9 is a camp where aliens are held, must have been a rough 3 weeks for those people. In knowing that i felt very blessed for these accommodations.
My goal going into the olympics was to be like the name (flash) i was given on the mt washington snowboard trip. I wanted to be energetic and filled with the Holy Spirit so that i could encourage and do what i had to. This came true through out the olympics. Many people were blessed from the kaléo group in this way (we all heard endless amounts of stories of this from non christian volunteers, some even told us that there was something different about us, like there was something living inside of us********Holy Spirit****** wow the way God works in people and makes himself known and seen.
I was truly blessed by being at the olympics, it was great to be out in the world serving the community and applying what i had learned so far in this amazing foundational year. I know that i am grounding my feet into the most secure place.
I am sure i will blog much more about this experience as i remember more and more stories!

is your refrigerator running?

Hello everyone!

So just finished a long week of class. It was long but a great week. It really formed more structure on my views of the mission field! i am so thankful that i have the opportunity to take these courses. Right now i am in between doing my final papers for theology of mission and pre course work for camp ministry and theology.

Church this week was alright. The way pastor Rob preached was not my still of of learning. I enjoy it when he preaches from one spot in scripture instead of all over the place. Youth Group was pretty good though. George the youth pastors day are rolling down, and i can really see that he is sad about it. but although he is sad he does not let that take the best of him, he is really enjoying the time with the youth. Which makes it more enjoyable for everyone! Now that school is not so busy for the youth, there is more people coming out to the events, so i have been able connect with many more kids.

First week back

Hey everyone,

I am finally back after three weeks in the cold ontario. but now i am back in the above zero temperature of Vancouver island. I had a great break with the family which might be a last for a while, do to me traveling to australia for a year. all together the break was amazing! i had some solid time with my parents, i really got to show them how much i am learning and how much i have matured! God did some great renewing work in my family, we have come together and all appreciated each other again, like the good old days!

now that i am back at camp, i really miss home! but i know that it is for the best that i am here! i know that God has so much more in store for me. so i am excited to learn lots more! i did not get the privilege to go to bethel for the sunday service. but i did get to go to my church in ontario which was great! i went to youth on friday night which was great. It was great to see the kids again, and it was a good reminded that God is using me in the kids lives.

Keep praying for the Bethel youth because they are about to take in a new youth pastor. i hope that the kids will engage with the new youth pastor!

Hey everyone,

Christmas was a great. it was a great time to go home and see the family! and to get a little break from school work. I had some great experiences with the family, i think i really should them how much i have grown towards God in that semester.  this semester is already feeling harder, because i am away from my family who i love so much! the school part is not going over very well, i just cant seem to get back into the routine of doing it.
i have not had the chance to go back to bethel for a sunday gathering or friday youth. i will be going to hopefully this weekend! which i am excited for and not at the same time. i think i just need to be back there to remember everything then i will be happy! i also have class this week, with Jim, the course is called camp ministries. i don't really know what to expect but it should be a lot of fun!
next week we also have our snowboarding trip to mount washington, which seems like it is going to be a really fun trip. i am super stoked for it!

busyness sucks!

hey!!
The last couple weeks have been super challenging for me! It has been 2 weeks packed full of Homework and the old testament class, which was very hard to stay focused and get everything out of it. On top of that, at the camp we have to work two full weekends and 4 partial weekends and i  had my two full weekends of work right beside each other. That made doing my homework and staying on top of my class extremely hard!
Because i had to work both weekends i have not been able to go to church or to youth. i have really been feeling the effect of that. It is a weird feeling, kind of a feeling of being thirsty and not being able to take a drink, because of all this busyness i have kind of lost my focus on God. I have really missed coming before God in worship!
I am really excited to get back to church this week. we also have a 24/7 week of prayer this week so i am excited to see God work in our lives here at Kaleo! I know that God is going to use this time to bring the group together and for individual healing.  we have chapel everyday this week so i am happy for that, and we are going into Crofton tomorrow to help out around the neighborhood, be in prayer for that that we may have conversations with the people and be a witness.
thanx for reading!
love to read some comments!!

we did not really have anything planned for the week other then going to Tofino, which is the surf capital of Canada! me, Brendon, Joel, and Kaylee went surfing for two days! we had an incredible time! i believe i have fallen in love with the sport to, i felt so comfortable on the board!
for the weekend i had to work at the camp. i started friday night and worked till sunday afternoon. so i did not get the chance to go to youth group or to the church service sunday morning. although i did spend some good time in worship and quit time.
